Welcome to the web site for The Occupational and Environmental Health Center of Eastern New York (formerly The Eastern New York Occupational and Environmental Health Center). We are one of eight regional occupational health clinical centers established by the New York State Legislature in 1988. The NYS Department of Health has general oversight responsibility for the statewide network. We are not a regulatory agency.

The Center is guided by Advisory Boards in both Albany and the Mid-Hudson with members from business, labor, governmental & educational agencies, community groups and the medical community.

We are an organization dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of occupational and environmental injuries and illnesses. Our staff consists of physicians (specializing in occupational medicine), certified occupational health nurses, a certified Industrial Hygienist, an administrator and support staff. Every effort is made to prevent cost from being a barrier to our services.

		Education/Training Designed and delivered by Center professional staff. We are available for a wide variety of occupational health topics.				OSHA and Other Mandated Exams We are experienced in a variety of required exams that are compliant with regulatory standards.

		For Employers The Center can help employers respond to workplace safety issues and assist in responding to employee concerns				For Employees Answers to questions on how to obtain services, what to expect when coming to the Center, and who pays for services.

		For Physicians Center staff has the knowledge and skills to assess illnesses that may be related to employee work sites. We work with physicians to provide a comprehensive picture of a patient's illness.				For Attorneys Refer clients who may have an illness or injury that is related to the work place or to the clients' environment. We file Workers' Comp claims and provide expert testimony.
